Plans, Billing and Invoices

Everything about your Nusii subscription lives in two places in Settings: Subscription for your plan, and Billing for your card, billing email and invoices. This guide walks through both, plus what to do when a payment doesn’t go through.

If you don’t see Subscription or Billing in Settings, your permission role doesn’t include billing. Ask your account owner to make the change, or to give you the Access billing permission.

The plans

Plan Price Users included Extra users Active proposals
Freelancer $29 a month 1 Not available 5
Agency $49 a month 3 $19 a month per extra user 20
Business $129 a month 5 $29 a month per extra user 50 (plus $25 for every 10 extra)

An active proposal is one that is currently pending. It stops counting once it’s accepted, rejected or archived. Prices are shown in your plan’s currency on the Subscription page, and the pricing page lists what each plan includes.

Change your plan

  1. Go to Settings › Subscription.
  2. Use the Monthly / Yearly switch to see the plans for the billing period you want.
  3. Click Select Plan on the plan you’d like.
  4. Confirm in the Change Plan pop-up by clicking Change Plan.

The new plan applies right away. Stripe, our payment provider, works out the difference for the rest of your billing period:

  • Same billing period (for example monthly Agency to monthly Business): the difference is added to your next invoice.
  • Monthly to yearly, or yearly to monthly: a new billing period starts on the day you switch, so you’re charged for the new period straight away. The unused part of your old period is credited.

Moving down to Freelancer? Remove your custom domain first in Settings › Custom Domain. Custom domains aren’t part of the Freelancer plan, and Nusii won’t switch you while one is set up.

Picked the wrong plan or billing period by accident? Email us at support@nusii.com and we’ll sort it out.

Extra users

The Agency plan includes 3 users and the Business plan includes 5. Each user on top of that costs $19 a month on Agency and $29 a month on Business. The Freelancer plan is for one user.

You don’t need to change anything in Billing when you invite someone. Nusii updates the number of users on your subscription once a day, and the change shows up, prorated, on your next invoice. Removing a team member lowers it the same way. See Team Members to invite or remove people.

Find and download your invoices

Go to Settings › Billing and open the Invoices tab. You’ll see every invoice with its issue date, number, amount and state. Click the download icon to get the PDF.

Where invoices are sent

On the Billing Info tab, fill in Billing Email to have invoices sent to someone else, like your accountant. It saves automatically. If you leave it empty, invoices go to your company email address.

The details on your invoices

Your invoices use the company name, address, country and VAT number from Settings › Company Settings. Update them there and click Update and Save; your next invoices use the new details. Keep in mind that the company name also shows on your proposals.

If you’re in Europe and have a valid VAT number, add it so you aren’t charged VAT on top of the plan price. See VAT number.

Need a different name or address on your invoices than on your proposals, or a change to an invoice that’s already been issued? Email us at support@nusii.com.

Update your credit card

  1. Go to Settings › Billing › Billing Info.
  2. Under Credit Card Details you’ll see your Current payment method.
  3. Enter the new card under Payment details and click Update Credit Card.

The new card is used for all future payments. Payments are processed securely through Stripe.

Let someone else add the card

Does someone else, like your finance team, hold the company card? Under Need somebody else to add a credit card? you’ll find a private link. Click Copy Link and send it to them. They can add the card without logging in to Nusii. Only share it with people you trust with your billing.

When a card payment fails

If a payment doesn’t go through, we email you a link to update your card. You don’t have to log in to use it. Stripe tries the payment again a few times over the following days, and we’ll email you again if it still fails.

Updating the card (from the email or in Billing Info) is all you need to do. If the payments keep failing, your account is disabled. When you log in, you’ll see a link to update your credit card. Adding a working card pays the open invoice and brings your account back straight away.

A few things that often cause failed payments:

  • The card expired or was replaced by your bank (for example after it was lost or stolen).
  • Your bank blocked the payment. Some banks block online or foreign payments; a quick call to your bank usually fixes it.
  • The card has a spending limit that’s lower than the invoice.

Reactivate a cancelled subscription

When you cancel, your account stays active until the end of the billing period. Until then, the Subscription page shows the date it will be cancelled and a Reactivate Subscription button. Click it and your subscription carries on as if you’d never cancelled.

To cancel, see Cancel Account.
